A friend from Lafayette was in town visiting last week so we did some Houston stuff that I thought I'd write about. Actually I'm only writing about it because I need to make list of museums and galleries that I want to visit and putting it here is the only way I am guaranteed not to lose my list. Orion MPCV We had very limited time and really crappy weather so we didn't get to do and see everything that I would have liked but we still had a great time. My friend had never been to NASA so we spent one day there. I didn't realize that so many people are under the impression that NASA has closed down. It seems to be a common misconception, however the only thing that has closed down is the shuttle program. NASA is alive and well and working on the Orion Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle which is expected to make its maiden voyage in 2015. In the mean time we'll be hitching a ride to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz to the tune of $60 million per seat. ...
I wrote a bunch of stuff about shopping and my new coffeemaker and some other things I got from Amazon, but I decided that no one really cares about all that when we could be talking about body hair instead. I don't have varicose veins but I'm not opposed to trying new products that might make my grooming routine easier. Not that it's a huge chore but still... Actually, I tried Nair back its 'short shorts' days. All it did then was give me a rash....
My Halloween decorations are pretty much finished. They won't be completely finished until the day after Halloween when I take them down because I will continue to add stuff and rearrange if I run across other things that I like. I'm not decorating my whole house because there's just too much of it. House, that is. I've decided to keep most of my holiday decorations confined to my foyer for a couple of reasons. One is because I just plain can't afford to buy or make enough stuff to decorate the whole house and even if I could there's just too much effort involved in that. Another reason is because foyers are just stupid rooms. They are a complete waste of space. The house I grew up in had a foyer the size of a bedroom. My mother had a huge display case in there that held all her creepy dolls and there were other knick knacks and dust catchers that no one but the paperboy ever saw because no one used our front door. Waste o' space. I've decided to make t...
